The King is dead. Long live the King.

It truly is amazing what this kid from Gary, Indiana turned out to be. When I heard the news yesterday, I was shocked. I didn’t know if I had heard the radio right or not as it went into a song. The King of Pop dead at 50. When no one had any reason to suspect that he was unhealthy. When he was preparing for a comeback tour.

Regardless of how strange he turned out as a person in the later years, you have to respect what he did. He lived through a father that did horrible things to him, and eventually went on to create the highest selling record of all time. Most kids with his kind of father end up creating more problems for society - Michael Jackson created some of the best music of all time. Also he brought dance back to the world. So cut him a break.

Something big happened yesterday, and I’m interested to see what goes on now that he’s gone. Pop music changed when he arrived and throughout his entire career. And now it’s the end of an era. R.I.P.
